Welcome to Glovers Swim School,

2 Bobbin Mill Cottage, Stubbins lane, Claughton on Brock, Preston, Lancashire, PR3 0PL

Glovers Swim School offer swimming lessons and develop water confidence for babies, children and adults of all abilities in and surrounding the Lancashire area. It is important that all members of Glovers Swim School adhere to the Terms and Conditions and Code of Conduct detailed below.

Acceptance of terms and conditions

By booking, or attending a swimming lesson with Glovers Swim School, you accept the terms and conditions shown in this document and they will form a binding contract between you and us.

1:1 / 1:2 / Groups Lessons

We operate an automatic enrolment system for our 1:1,1:2, and class lessons which means your child will automatically be booked onto the next term of lessons with us. We require 4 weeks’ notice if you wish to stop lessons. 

Lessons must be paid for in blocks of 5/10 weeks’.

Lessons are to be paid for in advance of each term. You will be informed of your payment plan via email and Homeportal.

Sessions are non-refundable once booked.

Pre - School Lessons

Pre – school lessons are booked and paid for in blocks of 10 weeks. With an option of spliting payments in two, every 5 weeks. 

Lessons are to be paid for in advance of the new course commencing. You will be informed of your payment plan via email and Homeportal. 

Sessions are non-refundable once booked.

Missed classes

Missed classes are non-refundable.

In the event that you leave and would like to return for lessons, you can contact us at office@gloversswimschool.co.uk to book or to be added to our waiting list, dependent on availability. Please see our Refund / Cancelation policy for more details.

Data Protection

All personal information provided by you will be held by Glovers Swim School, 2 Bobbin Mill Cottage, Stubbins Lane, Claughton on Brock, Preston, PR3 0PL.

By enquiring, visiting, attending, registering and/or communicating you consent to the use, collection and hold of information under the terms of this policy.

Medical

Medical conditions and additional needs must be disclosed to Glovers Swim School. All information is treated in confidence and sensitivity.

If you aware of any medical condition or additional need that the person receiving lessons may have, please fill in the medical form provided.

Any illness notified from the swimmer is decided on by the discretion of the instructor, as to whether they can enter the pool and its facilities or not.

Missed lessons due to sickness, are non-refundable unless in line with our cancellation policies as outlined above. If a doctor’s note is obtained, please contact us at office@gloversswimschool.co.uk. Glover's Swim School are under no obligation to give a refund. Please see our Refund / Cancelation policy for more details.

Staff

Glover's swim school, only work with Independent Swimming Teachers who are fully qualified, insured, and have current Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service). We strive to provide consistent teachers for your child/children's class, however when unavoidable we reserve the right to replace advertised instructors, all replacement teachers will be fully qualified. 

Pool closure

Pool closures happen on rare occasions, making it necessary to cancel lessons. If it is possible, we will contact you through the email and/or mobile number you have provided.

Photography

From time to time we will take pictures and record videos for promotion of our business.

If you do not wish for photos or videos of you or your children to be taken, please inform us and complete our opt out form detailed in our Safeguard and Child Protection Information Email.

Photographs/videos are taken to:
Record staff for feedback and training purposes.
Support the learning of each child's individual record.
Illustrate the sessions ran by our instructors at Glovers Swim School.

Promote sessions on social media, use as web content or other marketing tools.

Disclaimer

Glovers swim school and the pool owners cannot accept any responsibility for any incident that was the sole responsibility of the swimming teacher in charge of the class or lesson in which the incident occurred. Full liability lays with the teacher at the time of incident.

Code of Conduct

Please arrive for the teaching session on time.

Only enter the pool (water) once your instructor had invited you to do so. Listen to what your instructor tells you. If you don’t understand, please ask.

If the instructor deems behavior unsuitable, such as; shouting, throwing, jumping etc, they have the right to warn the individual and if the behavior persists, the right to ask them to leave.

Each instructor will inform swimmers of the appropriate attire expected to be worn whilst at the pool. If you do not adhere to this information, the instructor has the right to refuse access to the session until swimwear is changed.

Spectators

Spectators are welcome to watch the lesson in the designated viewing areas. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to supervise their child at all times. If you are bringing other young children who are not swimming, please ensure that they are supervised at all times and not able to walk around poolside unaccompanied.

Speaking with the Instructors

We welcome feedback from customers, we politely ask parents/guardians to refrain from talking to Teachers as this leads to lessons being unnecessarily interrupted. If you have an enquiry please call us on 07936132070 or email us at office@gloversswimschool.co.uk. If the matter is urgent, please speak to the Office Team who will then speak with the Teacher.

Pool safety

In the event of any emergency the person in charge will follow the pools Emergency Action Plan (EAP).

All swimmers and spectators will immediately stop what they are doing and wait quietly for further instructions.

Should it be necessary to clear the pool, when the instruction is given, all swimmers will move to the sides of the pool, leave the water and stand back from the side.

Should it be necessary to evacuate all spectators, instructors and swimmers from the building no attempt should be made to recover possessions from the changing rooms or anywhere else within the building.

Parents/Guardians/Spectators should refrain from taking phones on to poolside unless agreed with the Teacher before the lesson. Taking photos of children are strictly forbidden during swimming lessons unless granted by the Teacher prior to the start of the lesson.

Hygiene

Do not take any food or drink into the changing rooms or on pool side.

Shoes must not be worn in changing areas and pool facility.

Glovers swim school would like to maintain respect given to all facilities we use by keeping them clean, tidy and in good working order. If you have any concerns, please report by sending an email to office@gloversswimschool.co.uk.

(PRE – SCHOOL LESSONS) Double nappy policy

Were appropriate, please use double nappies or leak-proof nappies. All young children unable to use the toilet facilities, must adhere to wearing double or leak-proof protection. Glovers Swim School reserves the right to refuse admission to the pool without the appropriate swimwear.

At the request of all pool owners, used or soiled nappies should be disposed of in the correct bins or if unavailable please double bag and take home.

Always change your baby on the floor using a suitable changing mat or correct facility provided. Do not use any raised areas such as benches, trolleys or tables. This is to prevent accidents from occurring.

Valuables

Glover's Swim School do not accept any liability for the loss or damage to any personal effects or property brought to any lesson or left on the premises. We cannot accept any liability for lost, stolen or damaged items. We advise no valuable items are brought to swimming lessons.

Changes to Terms and Conditions/Code of Conduct

From time to time Glovers Swim School may update these terms by sending you either an updated version or notification of minor changes. You are free to not accept these changes but we would ask you to notify us in writing of your non-acceptance within 14 days of your receipt, failing which we will be entitled to treat our agreement with you as being subject to the updated version.

Refund Policy

Cancellations: If you are unable to attend a private / semi-private lesson, you must ring 07936132070 at the earliest opportunity.

In the event of US having to cancel a lesson we will offer an alternative lesson slot.

In the instance that a pool cannot not be in use in the short term, we will endeavour, where possible to re-schedule your lessons. In this instance, Glover’s Swim School are not responsible for any travel expenses.

Where a pool is not available on a longer term basis (in excess of 2 weeks), on public health or other grounds outside our control, we cannot be held responsible for providing any further lessons for you within that time. If this occurs, and in the event that it is not possible to reschedule the classes, we will do our best to either refund the unused balance of your course fees or to recompensate you in services or refunds in a future term cycle.

If you are an existing or new client and you cancel a booking for the upcoming course at any time prior to 7 days of the course commencing, we will issue a refund minus £10 administration fee. Any cancellation within 7 days shall not be entitled to a refund.

If the term has started, Glover’s Swim School is under no obligation to refund any part of the course fee. This does not include a 4 weeks notice period. 

Glover’s Swim School are under no obligation to offer refunds in the event that you are unable to attend part of or the entire course.

We also regret that we are unable to offer any alternatives for missed lessons on your behalf.
